The Serengeti National Park is one of the world’s last great national parks. The name Serengeti derives from the Maasai word “Stringet, meaning endless planes.
This park is home to more than three million large animals including Africa’s big five – lions, buffalo, elephant, rhinoceros and leopard – as well as other wild animals such as giraffe, wildebeest, zebras and gazelles roaming the 14, 763 sq km of vast planes.
The Park is the centre of the Serengeti ecosystem, roughly defined as the annual ‘wildebeest migration’ that serves as pasture for wild animals. The migration of more than 1.5 million Wildebeests accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles help to preserve the species.
Best Time: For the migration from December to May in the South of the Park and from June to October to the Western Corridor and to the North.

The Ngorongoro Crater is situated in a conservation area totaling 8,288 sq km. The crater has graduated a bowl known as ‘Caldera’, which was formed when the molten core of the volcano subsided into the earth and the steep crater sides fell inward.
The Crater has an area of about 260 sq Km that is 19 km across. It stands 2,286m above the sea level and the floor lies about 610m below the rim.
The crater has a spectacular concentration of wildlife. This is the best place to see rhinos throughout the year, the bird life is very rich and it is the hunting ground for lions, cheetahs and hyenas.
Best Time: Whole year – rainy season in April

Lake Manyara National Park is situated within the African Rift Valley and is famous for its tree climbing lions that laze on the branches of the acacia tree.
The park covers an area of 325 sq km and is a sanctuary for giraffes, impalas, zebras, hippos, buffalos, baboons, elephants, reedbuck, blue and vervet monkeys, waterbuck and many more wild animals.
The display of flora is amazing and the lake itself attracts a large variety of birdlife and huge flocks of flamingos.
Best time: Whole year

Tarangire National Park is famous for its dense wildlife population. Here you will find elephants, lions, warthog, eland, buffalo and many more wild animals throughout the park, which stretches over and area of 2600 sq km offering spectacular views of the savannah, which is interspersed with swamps and rivers.
Best Time to Visit: From June to February.

Arusha National Park covers 137sq. kms. This park is described as a ‘little gem’. It consists of three spectacular features – the Momella Lakes, Meru Crater, and the Ngurdoto Crater.
Altitudes range from 1,525 m above sea level at Momella to nearly 4,575 m at the summit of Mount Meru. On clear days magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru can be seen from almost any part of the park.
The park is famous for its bird life both migrant and resident and the handsome black and white columbus monkeys and blue monkeys which inhabit the lush green forests of ancient cedar and podocarpus.
Among the many other animals commonly seen in the park are baboons, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, waterbucks and other antelopes.
Best time: Whole year but in April and May, a 4 wheel drive is necessary.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest in Africa – 330 km. It is situated south of Equator in Northern Tanzania. It is composed of two dormant volcanoes Mawenzi (5,149 mt.) and the permanent snow caped Kibo, the highest peak 19, 330 feet (5,895 mt).
The total area of the Park is 755 sq. kms. Kilimanjaro can be climbed at any time of the year except during the long rains from March to May. The ascent can be made with assistance of guides and porters via Marangu route. The route usually requires 5 to 6 days. You can expect breathtaking landscapes as wells as vast birdlife and beautiful rain forest.
Those who reach Uhuru Peak, the actual summit or Gillman’s Point on the lip of the Crater will have earned their climbing certificate and their memories.
Best time: Whole year except April and May rainy seasons.

Mount Meru is rising to 14, 990 feet (4,566 mt) one of Africa’s highest and most beautiful volcanic mountains. The route to the summit passes through parkland, montane forest, a giant heather zone and moorland.
Finally, the summit is reached by a narrow, barren ridge which provides stunning views of the Ash Cone lying several thousand feet below in the crater and Kilimanjaro in the background.
Best time: Whole year avoid April and May rainy seasons.
